Treatments - Dental Implants

If you are considering implants it is very important to have an experienced implant surgeon in your professional team. and we are fortunate in having one of the leading implant surgeons in the UK here at the Hertfordshire Centre for dentistry.

DR MICHAEL NORTON is a Fellow of the Royal college of Surgeons for which he is also an examiner for their implant diploma. We are therefore able to offer all procedures that might be necessary to place dental implants, including all bone augmentations and sinus lifts.

What is an Implant?

A pure titanium fixture which is placed into bone, eventually becoming integrated so that it is solid and permanent.

What happens next?

Usually a crown is fabricated which is attached to the implant by a combination of screw and cement.

What does it look like afterwards?

It is almost like having your own natural tooth back.

What does it cost?

Implant dentistry is quite expensive and as a guide the cost of both the implant fixture and crown fabrication we advise that this could involve fees of between £2,350 - £2,650.

For more complex treatment we are able to replace lost teeth with fixed dental implant retained crown and bridge work or removable dental implant retained prostheses.

This patient had lost all the upper teeth and after inserting six implants we were able provide  a fixed upper bridge which the patient says 'was just like having my own teeth back'

Unfortunately this patient lost his front teeth in an accident, but we were able to fabricate four front crowns on implants so that he was back to as he was before.

This patient wished a less expensive option of a removable prosthesis but was very retentive and didn't move about like a denture. We placed four implants and the patient was very delighted with the result.
