Dr Sonia Sinha Joshi BDS, MFDS, RCS, MSC. Sonia qualified from Guy’s King’s and St Thomas’ Dental Institute in 2002 and is our Specialist in Peridontics at the practice. She graduated with distinction and numerous prizes including those for Restorative Dentistry and Periodontology.

The aspect of dentistry, which covers gum disease.

How do I know if I have gum disease?

If your gums bleed

If your teeth are loosening

If you are becoming ‘long in the tooth’

Is it preventable?

Yes, if proper oral hygiene is undertaken at a young age or instigated before too much progress of gum disease has taken place.

Is it curable?

In most people the disease can be arrested and to some extent reversed.

Should I see a gum specialist?

If you feel that your dentist is not providing the treatment required you are welcome to ask for a referral or alternatively seek a periodontist.

Our referral practice has a specialist periodontist on site who can undertake your treatment directly or through a referral from your own dentist.
